Nanaimo Connect

About Us

Nanaimo Connect is a grassroots movement for the residents and businesses of the Regional District of Nanaimo to connect with each other so we can all work together to rebuild our economy and culture as we emerge on the other side of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Bill Manners

Bill has a strong background in volunteering and activism in the city of Nanaimo.  He helped initiate the Nanaimo & Region Independent Living Resource Centre, Dover Community Association, and the NoVote2017 Society (which led to an 80% defeat at the polls for the ill-conceived Event Centre).  He was a member of the City of Nanaimo Community Engagement Task Force, and is currently on the Solid Waste Management Plan Monitoring Advisory Committee for the Regional District of Nanaimo.  He has also volunteered his time with Bathtub Weekend Safety and Communications Committee and the Seniors Advocate of BC.
